The eastern Himalayan region is one of the least explored parts of the Himalayas in India. Home to the 3rd largest peak in the world - Khangchendzonga, sweeping views and a unique culture, this part of India is waiting to be explored more. This 9 days and 8 nights of Eastern Himalayan Tour Package, will take you across the mystifying and stunningly awe inspiring sceneries while also making you learn more about the colourful cultures, traditions and people who call India their home. Upon reaching your point of arrival, you will be greeted by our tour manager. After the checkout you will be taken to your car or bus and made to head to your first destination of the trip, Darjeeling. Darjeeling is about 75 kms away from new Jalpaiguri and Bagdogra airport and it takes 3 to 4 hours to reach.
On reaching Darjeeling you will be checked in to your allotted hotel for an overnight stay and dinner. The remainder of the day will be free for you to explore the nearby marketplaces.
Your morning will start off on a stunning note. You will be taken to tiger hill for witnessing the incredible sunrise at 4 am on the Khangchendzonga mountain ranges. After that you will be having a delicious breakfast. Post breakfast your full day sightseeing tour of Darjeeling will take place. You will be taken to places like Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery. You will also be covering places like tea gardens, Japanese temple, P.N. zoological park etc. the evening time will be reserved for you to try out the local authentic delicacies and shop for souvenirs.
Finally you will be headed back to your hotel for dinner followed by an overnight stay.
Post breakfast, and after checking out of your hotel in Darjeeling, you will be taken to your next destination to Pelling. The journey is extremely scenic and takes about 4 to 5 hours to reach. During the trip some short sightseeing will also take place like the signal check post. Finally upon arrival in Pelling you will be immediately checked in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After a delicious authentic breakfast the full day will be involved in some incredible sightseeing experiences. You will be taken for sightseeing to some of the most scenic places in India like, Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfalls, Khecheopalri Lake and Khangchendzonga Waterfalls. The village will be a great way of learning more about the local culture by interacting with the local tribes of Bhotiyas, Chettris, Tamangs etc.
After lunch the 2nd half of your Pelling sightseeing will include visits to places like: Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse ruins and new helipad ground. Finally you will be headed back to your hotel in Pelling for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast and checking out of your hotel, you will be taken to the next destination on the itinerary - Gangtok. En route Gangtok you will be covering interesting sightseeing places like Namchi or Temi Tea Garden and offer your Darshan at the Siddheshwar Dham Temple. At this temple you can even check out the miniature versions of the Char Dham temples of India. The main feature of the temple is the 108 feet long statue of Lord Shiva.
Gangtok is 5 to 6 hours away from Pelling. On reaching Gangtok you will be immediately checked in to your hotel for dinner followed by an overnight stay.
Post breakfast you will be headed out for a full day of exciting and fun filled sightseeing of Gangtok which is also famous for its impeccable natural beauty. You will be covering famous tourist destinations of Tashi View Point, Hanuman and Ganesh Tok, attend the beautiful flower show and shop at the handicrafts centre. You can shop for traditional stuff like carpets, traditional motifs, Thangka Paintings, hand painted masks and other such souvenir items. You can even go to places like monasteries and other beautiful waterfalls.
Finally after a full day of exciting sightseeing and shopping experience you will be headed back to your hotel in Gangtok for dinner and an overnight stay.
Post breakfast you will be taken for a full day of fun packed adventure activities and sightseeing around Gangtok. The first stop will be the famous Tsomgo Lake which is one of the most famous high altitude lakes in India. After that a visit to Baba Mandir will take place which is 55 kms away from Gangtok city.
After this you will be headed back to your hotel in Gangtok for dinner and an overnight stay.
After a delicious breakfast you will be headed for a half day of sightseeing in Kalimpong. Just 3 hours of road journey away from Gangtok, Kalimpong is a scenic little hamlet that is famous for its incredible views, monasteries and foods. The city tour of Kalimpong will involve visits to places like Mangal Dham, Durpin Dara Hill, pine view nursery, golf garden etc. after a fun packed day of exciting sightseeing you will be headed back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After having breakfast you will be checked out of your hotel and transferred to your point of departure. The drop off at the new Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra airport will mark the end of your jewels of Eastern Himalayas Tour Package with us.
