Plan your Kaziranga trip in advance as safari permits and lodges fill up quickly. The nearest airport is Jorhat (97 km) and the nearest railway station is Furkating (75 km). Most visitors stay at Kohora, the main entry point for Kaziranga, where you’ll find many lodges and resorts. From Kohora, you should go for jeep safaris in the morning and also try elephant rides inside the park.
The best time to visit Kaziranga Forest is from November to April. During these months, the weather is pleasant, the skies are clear, and animals are easier to spot. The temperature goes from 15°C to 30°C, perfect for safaris and photography.
In Kaziranga, don’t feed or bother the animals. Stay on marked paths, avoid littering and keep noise low. Always stay in your vehicle during safaris and listen to your guide. Treat the park and wildlife with care.
